This pair of Menonite field workers spoke no English. We invited them in for some Christmas wine and then contacted the authorities.

So they grow when you feed them. It's true. Sorry about the lazy posting updates, but we've been spending a lot of time watching TV and being on hold with our congress men and women.
Olive and Orly are healthy and growing and finding new ways to get shut out of the bedroom at night. They've learned some basic ettiquette from mister spray bottle(pictured), and are having the time of their lives. Happy Holidays, see you all soon!

First visit to the vet

Today the kittens had their first vet visit. Just like their first night here, Olive was the first out of the crate to check out the new environment and meet her doctor. Orly had to be dragged out kicking and screaming into the exam room. Both kitties are very healthy. Olive is 3 pounds and Orly is almost 3 pounds. The got a de-worming pill and some shots too! And right before we left, the receptionist gave Olive her first massage...I don't think she wanted to go home after that.

The weekend...

Orly: I'm enjoying the whole house now, but I'm still a little frightened of loud sounds and sudden movements. I made a new friend last night. Her name is Flora. She has a scary scarf but other than that, she's alright.




Olive: I'm starting to get used to my new home. I am no longer shut in one room with Orly and I can even have visitors without feeling the need to flee.







We'll get back in touch soon. We're off to sample the catnip!

The First Night Home

After an uneventful car ride to their new home, Orly and Olive began the exciting exploration process. Olive was much more curious than her brother at first, but he eventually came around. They enjoyed some TV with the welcoming committee and retired for the night under our bed. At 6:20 am, Orly decided it was time to great the day. He meowed to wake up his sister, they ate and drank, and then the kitten antics went into full swing. They're two very happy little kittens.
